The University of Mississippi’s Office for Research and Economic Development (ORED) needed to move its extensive web content onto the university’s new platform — and use the transition to serve researchers better. ORED partnered with Red Window to recast its online presence around a clear function of service to the campus research community, including seasoned investigators and faculty new to grant funding.

Guided by the vice chancellor’s vision, we worked closely with the ORED team to overhaul its messaging, reorganize pages into a user-focused site map, and rewrite dense policy language into accessible, action-oriented copy.
Built entirely within the university’s web platform, the new site walks researchers through each step of pre- and post-award processes while showcasing how university research drives impact in the real world. We curated photography from the university archive to humanize every page, and collaborated with ORED’s incoming content manager for a smooth hand-off.
The result is a sustainable, service-driven hub that streamlines support and reinforces the university’s research leadership.
