As Maury County, Tennessee, experienced rapid growth south of Nashville, local leaders wanted to attract new residents and workers without losing the community’s character.

The University of Mississippi’s marketing and communications team led a major, multi-year initiative to unify and modernize the university’s web presence, consolidating more than 60,000 pages of content across dozens of independently managed sites.
With updated brand standards and a new web framework in place, units across the university needed to adapt to the new system, while using the opportunity to make their websites more effective tools for their own goals and audiences.
As an approved vendor at the institution level, Red Window worked directly with select schools, departments and research centers to refine messaging, develop site structures, produce content and photography, and implement websites within the university’s content management system.
This collaboration allowed the central MarComm team to maintain high-level oversight while Red Window worked with each unit to shape strategy, structure and content within the university’s brand and web framework.
The result was a series of new sites that aligned with the institution’s standards while giving each unit a clearer, more effective way to communicate with its audiences.

Months before breaking ground, the founders of Roundabout Oxford RV & Water Resort began shaping the story of a new destination and building the excitement needed to support future demand.
By partnering with Red Window during the planning stage, the founders gained access to the capabilities of an in-house marketing department before they were ready to build their own team. Red Window supported strategy and creative execution from naming, messaging and brand development to social media, email engagement, website development with booking integration and launch event support.
As the internal team came on board, Red Window helped equip them with the tools and foundation needed to carry the work forward.

FAQs

The best communicators know how to listen first, not just talk. Reaching the right audience starts with understanding who they are, what they care about, why your message matters to them and where they are most likely to engage.
At Red Window, our approach starts with listening to you and, when appropriate, directly to your audience. This foundation allows us to shape the right narrative and craft stories that resonate. From there, we are strategic about where and how the story is shared, so that it reaches the right people and moves your goals forward.

Both have their place, and we're happy to help you determine what's right for your situation.
Freelancers can be the right fit when you need support in a specific area or project, such as writing copy, designing a logo, or updating a website. They are often less expensive than an agency and can help fill a defined gap on your team.
An integrated agency brings a broader set of capabilities and a coordinated approach. Instead of managing separate individuals, you have a team that aligns strategy, messaging, content, and execution, so your efforts are connected and consistent over time without the extra effort of managing multiple people. The right choice depends on your needs.

Not always. Many organizations have marketing leadership representation, but it might not be full-time, depending on the organization’s stage of growth.
At the very least, you do need someone inside your organization who is able to allot at least a few hours a month to coordinating with an outsourced marketing strategist or team.
In our experience, this role can look like:
A startup founder who is able to work closely with our team as part of building a company.
A practice manager who is able to coordinate among our team, the providers, and/or corporate priorities.
A CMO who collaborates on strategy and execution with our team.
A full marketing team that leans on us for a outside perspective and special projects and initiatives.
Contact us if you’d like to discuss what structure might make sense for your organization.

Organizations seeking grant funding need to communicate their mission clearly and demonstrate their impact. Funders look for alignment between data, strategy, execution and results, and professional communications support can help bring those elements together.
At Red Window, our work with nonprofits, public organizations and institutions gives us a strong understanding of funder expectations and priorities. We help ensure your communications and reporting demonstrate progress, outcomes and impact throughout a project.
Strategies for seeking grant funding for communications may include:
Direct requests for branding, marketing and impact storytelling to build capacity and support growth.
A communications budget line item within a project-based grant request, helping you show the project’s impact.
Funding for awareness campaigns that are central to your mission.
Contact us if you would like to discuss a communications scope and budget to include in your grant proposal.

A launch or acquisition can be an ideal time to work with an agency, because it gives you access to strategy, creative support and a broad range of skills without immediately adding full-time staff.
During a period of growth or transition, an agency can help clarify your message, build the right materials and manage the details needed to introduce or reposition the business effectively.
Red Window often works with entrepreneurs and leadership teams during these moments. We provide strategic leadership as well as hands-on execution, from branding and messaging to websites, content, video and launch communications.
Some founders bring us in early to help shape the brand from the ground up, while others come to us once the business model is more refined and they are ready to take it to the next level.
